Chain conveyors

Chain conveyors are conveyors using a chain instead of a belt as a transporting means. This type of the conveyors enables more precise positioning of transported items as chain, in contrast to the belt, does not slip and it also has a specific step. Chain conveyors are also much more suitable for transporting hot items. They consist of aluminium structure, which has one pair of sprockets attached at each end, the first pair being drive sprockets and the other pair idler sprockets, which are also the tensioning sprockets by means of which the chain can be properly tensioned. The electric motor, which rotates the drive sprockets causes the continuous movement of the chain and thus allows the transport of the material under or on the surface of the chain. All this assembly is attached to the base, which may be fixed or movable or adjustable in height. The chain conveyor can overcome the big differences in altitude (also vertically, 90 °).
